The nature in this part of Australia is just absolutely phenomenal. And the people are so nice and laid back - I love it! Even all the backpackers suddenly get even more social, maybe a bit thanks to my great and best hostel ever - the Traveller's Oasis. If you ever end up in Cairns, be sure to hit that hostel. No more value for your money could be given, I truly loved staying there. Awesome stuff, grounds and new friends - pure Good Times.
The few days I got to spend here I went first snorkeling at the Great Barrier Reef, but ended up making my biggest dream come true and went diving there with big sea turtles. It was amazing - and I loved it. Funny enough, I felt that I had achieved something. The next days after that we went to see the rainforests, canooing, canyoning, finding small underwater caves, mountain biking, spotting platypusses and other wildlife, 4 metre snakes and spiders size of my fist. Truly an amazing experience in here despite of a not so nice jellyfish in my face and a stinging tree I managed to meet in the forests. This is the first place in the world I know I'll come back many many more times, so good it was.
Now I'm actually sitting in the airplane and have to shut the laptop before I get noticed of it. It's Brisbane calling and the adventures of the Surfer's Paradise! Next weeks schedule: Surfing! :)
Cairns - over'n out!
